Investec support for Coaching for Conservation goes into third year

Investec, the asset management outfit, said it will continue to support conservation as it is again sponsoring this year’s annual Coaching for Conservation week-long camp in Maun, the country’s tourism hub.
The company, with close to P10 billion of assets under its management, has been a key sponsor of the event that has previously attracted the British Royals like Prince William, who was part of the charity event.
Investec Asset Management Botswana Managing Director, Martinus Seboni, said as a global investment manager with African roots, the company believes in investing in the future of the continent, its children and its environment.
“It is our privilege to be supporting Tusk and the Coaching for Conservation initiative which has garnered such strong support from its patrons,” Seboni said.
“The message of a changing Africa is slowly reaching the developed world. This initiative will spotlight how investment in the continent’s community, its people and its environment can all play their role in securing a positive and lasting legacy,” he added.
Investec Asset Management’s support of the programme is in conjunction with its broader support of Tusk Trust and its sponsorship of the Botswana Predator Conservation Trust, which developed the Coaching for Conservation (C4C) programme.
Now entering its ninth year, C4C has reached over 4,000 youth with the 16 hour Learning from Wildlife curricula.
With the help of TUSK and Investec Asset Management, C4C has built a permanent Conservation Education Centre, has a permanent professional educator and soccer development professional and provides daily year-round programming to 1500 Ngamiland primary school children.
