GU hardman closes in on Wits deal

Gaborone United (GU) seem to have resigned themselves to losing their midfield workhorse, Ofentse ‘Size-10’ Nato, who is on the brink of signing for South African Premier League side, Bidvest Wits.
Nato has been at the Milpark-based side for some time and according to reports, the university side has not wasted time in signing the midfielder. Sources in Johannesburg indicate that Nato agreed personal terms with the South African side on Thursday. A South African magazine website reported that Nato has penned a two year contract.

“He has agreed to join Wits and what is left is for Wits and GU to agree on the selling price.
There is no doubt that Nato is an intelligent player who can add value to the club,” said a source.
Nato has been on trials with Supersport United and Pretoria University before resurfacing at Milpark side. Efforts to get a comment from Nato proved futile as his phone rang unanswered.

GU secretary Herbert Letsebe said that they have not received any formal correspondence from Wits.
“We were expecting something from Wits today and until such time, Nato remains our player as he is contracted to us. There is no way we can hide that he has signed for Wits because it’s our wish to see the player pursuing his career at the highest level,” said Letsebe on Friday.

If Nato joins The Students he is likely to face stiff competition for a place in the starting line-up as the club has also signed former Kaizer Chiefs workhorse Tinashe Nengomasha.
