The newly released INF World Rankings which have been updated to reflect matches played up until 30th June, 2018 show that Botswana is now ranked 22nd globally. This new update of INF World rankings means that Malawi and South Africa automatically qualify for next year’s Netball World Cup which will be held in Liverpool.

Fencing Master Aobakwe Modise is well set to slug it out with the best of the best at the upcoming FIE World championships slated for Wuxi sports centre indoor stadium in China from 19th to 27th July. Modise has been outstanding in the domestic fencing arena, scooping Gold in all domestic competitions. She will represent Botswana in the women’s epee weapon competition.

Botswana men’s national rugby senior team, ‘The Vultures’ has checked in camp ahead of the Rugby Africa Silver Cup tournament scheduled for Zambia from the 6th to the 13th July. University of Botswana Acting Director of Culture, Sports and Recreation Nelson Bodilenyane says the institution’s sports facilities have now opened to the public. The facilities which can be rented include the stadium, aquatic centre, softball diamond, outdoor courts, open arena or amphitheater and the campus indoor sports centre.
