Kung Fu is slowly finding its foothold in Botswana. In fact it is already growing in leaps and bounds as evidenced by a number of academies setting their foot in the country.

One of these is the Francistown based White Tiger Shaolin Kung Fu and Positive Children Academy, a fully-fledged Shaolin Kung Fu academy founded by a Motswana Master (Sifu) Maclean “Young” Gaethuse in 2013.

Botswana Football Association (BFA) spokesperson Tumo Mpatane said the association is not aware of any vote rigging attempt by any of its employees.

This comes as allegations have cropped up that a certain BFA employee was complicit in the nomination of a certain Poloko Baumake for a position in the Hukuntsi Regional Football Association (HRFA) executive committee.

Township Rollers has announced it has parted ways with Dragojlo Stanojlovic and Mogomotsi Teenage Mpote.

The two were officially released by the club at the end of the current 2017/ 2018 football season due to the end of their contracts.

Premier League title sponsors Botswana Telecommunication Corporation (BTC) launched the eagerly anticipated one day Charity cup at Phakalane Golf Estates last week Friday. BTCL has availed P3 million towards the tournament over three years at a value of P1 million a season. The sponsorship will be used towards prize monies and administration of the tournament.

Suspended Botswana Boxing Association (BoBA) Vice President Technical Dirang Thipe says he is not ready to serve in the current BoBA executive committee once again.

The 7th edition of the Diacore Gaborone Marathon took place on Sunday at the Grand palm Hotel. This time around there were a number of different categories to for athletes to participate in. The most intriguing race was the 42.2km marathon.

Many long distance runners took part in the 42.2km marathon due to the 1 million Pula (US$100. 000) prize tag.
