Only a little over one-third of Batswana aged 18 and above own land, according to the 2022 Population and Housing census analytical report published by Statistics Botswana. The comprehensive study, which examined land ownership across residential, agricultural, and business use, found that 35.8 percent of individuals own land, while 62.6 percent do not.
