Botswana’s young revelers are already putting on their dancing shoes in preparation for a hip-hop jamboree billed “the first of its kind.”
The annual X’s and O’s party was founded by ‘THIS IS AFRICA’ (T.I.A), a music and entertainment group to celebrate young people and young love. It has traditionally been hosted on Valentine’s Day, but this time around it will take place on the March 4thbecause preparations took a bit longer as the event has grown big over the years.
This year’s event will be held at Stanbic Bank Piazza in Molapo Crossing. The show will start at 06h00 until 02h00. X’s and O’s refers to hugs and kisses, and the catchy phrase is usually used by the youth to convey affection.
“T.I.A has cleverly transformed this custom into a distinguished, elegantly organized party for people to come and show affection while listening to a great line up which is mostly dominated by Hip Hop music,” said Talitah Tim, the spokesperson for the event. X’s and O’s Skyy Infusion Party usually attracts classy, energetic, loving people who enjoy exploring the latest fashion trends and music in an exclusive night of lifestyle.
This year’ event, organized by Black Tie Projects and T.I.A will feature exclusive live sessions with some of the most sought after artists in the industry. The organizers have forged a partnership with Skyy Vodka, and there will be ‘blue carpet’ for all guests.
The venue will be decorated with all the sponsors’ advertising material to add class and sophistication. Security will also be tight at the event.
“This event will be the first of its kind in Botswana, and I am pretty sure it will be amazing for those who will be in attendance,” Talitah Tim.
The lineup will include both local and international acts; and will be headlined by man of the moment Emtee, who hails from South Africa and is best known for hits such as ‘Roll up’ and ‘Washa’. He will be joined by Nasty C . The German Twins from Pula power will be the hosts at the event and will surely give the audience an energetic presence on stage .The local line up is made up of heavy weights from the likes of Dramaboi, Ryan Blaze, Faded Gang and Bant (So Why). The DJs are; crowds favorite Fauz, Crispin da Drummer, Ozzy The Great and Unanimous 1. The event aspires to bring its guests quality entertainment which is safe and worthwhile.
