A hapless and overwhelmed Masisi conjures up feelings of pity

President Mokgweetsi Masisi’s frequent and clearly unplanned travels abroad have once again become a of source of social media frenzy.

The issue is no longer just the costs – which are significant, but also the fact that he is abandoning more pressing duties at home.

In short there is no balance between trips abroad and staying at home.

At the beginning it seemed like the intension was to make a statement against a predecessor who totally neglected foreign policy. Now the frequent trips are making a statement about the kind of person Masisi really is; playful.
