After Shaggy, Eve comes for charity fundraiser

Last year they brought in Jamaican superstar, Shaggy, and now Orange Botswana has once again teamed up with Wesside Entertainment to bring the second edition of the annual Urban Legends concert.

The show, scheduled for the 27th November at Fairgrounds Holdings, starts at 4pm till midnight, and features none other than the internationally acclaimed rapper, actress, fashion icon and songwriter, EVE, from Los Angeles, USA, alongside local artists, Zeus, Vee, Scar, Juju Boy, Stampore, Ski, Judith Sefhako , Boogie Sid, among others. This year’s concert goes under the tag line, “I am Committed to making a difference, are you?”

Eve has enjoyed huge followings locally and around the world with hit songs like, Who’s that girl?, Gangsta Lovin, featuring Alicia Keys, Got what you need, Let me blow your mind, to mention but a few.

All proceeds from the event will be donated to HIV\AIDS related initiatives and organisations throughout the country.

Addressing a media conference at Botswana Craft on Thursday, Wesside entertainment Managing Director, Olivier Prentout, told reporters they are in consultation with NACA and representatives of key Non Governmental Organisations to identify, before the concert, the donation process towards various Community Based Organisations. To ensure transparency and accountability, Orange Botswana has appointed auditors, Ernst and Young.

Ticket sales will commerce soon and this time the organisers have catered for all music fans through innovative pricing structures with silver tickets selling for P50, Gold tickets P250, whilst Platinum tickets will be sold for P1500.

Corporate packages will also be available, and organisers have urged fans to get theirs in time as no ticket sales will be made at the gate.

Another “Urban Legends” first will be a song written and composed by local beat box poet, Kefhentse KK Kefhentse, and produced by the legendary Skizo.

It was specially recorded for World AIDS Day 2010 and themed around the same Tag line, “I am committed to making a difference, are you?” This wholly local project is coordinated by RINZ Media and will feature local Urban Legends artists.
