Lawrence Skhana Koko got the chance to go and watch the Africa Cup Of nations 2012 (AFCON) in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea.
“We have made arrangement for him to go as one of our beMobile ambassadors, for he is part of the beMobile family, to learn and interact with others,” confirmed Golekanye Molapisi, Botswana Telecommunication Manager (beMobile).
Molapisi explained that it was not only Koko but there are three more loyal customers, namely: Thato Mokobi, Ontiretse Mpesi and Dikarabo Ramadubu. “We are rewarding them for their loyalty to the brand and the users of the network. Molapisi said they have popped out P200 000, which will cover the whole trip.
“The money covers air travelling, accommodation and pocket money,” said Molapisi. He further explained his awareness that a majority of Batswana may have wanted to attend the AFCON but due to the high cost involved, some did not manage.
Molapisi said the four could have been taken to AFCON earlier during the first game but they had problems with visas and internal processes of the company.
Koko confirmed that he was called and was informed about the trip.
“Offers like this you do not have to waste time but utilize them, especially that this is going to be my first time to watch AFCON games live,” said Koko.
He added that if the chance is available, he would like to meet colleagues (Zebras).
The other ambassadors are already in Equatorial Guinea and these are Ofentse Nato and Kabelo Dambe.
“We use them for promotion because they are young stars and we want to empower them economically and socially so that they can even make a living outside football,” said Molapisi.
He also highlighted that they have plans to equip them with social skills.
