What is appreciation?
To appreciate is to find something to like about a given person, place, thing or experience. It normally creates an environment of trust, satisfaction, dignity and respect to the person being appreciated and the one who appreciates.
Appreciation comes in many forms; be it rewards or even just words. Most people seem to disregard the simple but important aspect of  appreciating through words like, thank you, bless you, you are welcome, good bye. Imagine how the world could be if there were no words of appreciation, life would not have its colour and friendliness. Appreciation does not need one to be given a huge gift, or money for appreciation, but the little that one does for the other should be regarded as something of value, regardless of how small it may be.
As they grow older, many people seem to overlook the little yet important things to give gratitude for.
The word thank you is something that is normally felt inside after it is uttered; it is a word that shows recognition of something by someone, and it has an emotional touch to it.
Words of appreciation can sometimes seem as if they do not hold any value in daily living but they are integral in how human beings relate and live. They can add value in places like business to try and reward those who are employed to feel recognized when they do something remarkable.
For employees to be able to work and perform better in an organization, there is need for appreciation by uttering such words as good, excellent or thank you, which will motivate them to keep up the standard or work extra harder.
There is need for credit to be granted where is it is due, fairly and honestly.
Appreciation does not necessarily need to have to be anything really expensive or big in size, but even the words themselves could be of utmost importance.
Here in Botswana, for example, one of the values among different tribes is that they do have similar values of appreciation. When the children are brought up, they are taught to always greet an elderly person even if they do not know her or him.
They are taught to always say thank you when they are given something. This is another way of encouraging appreciation through the usage of words.
The little words of appreciation that people ignore have a great impact on how people.
