BFA Suspends, Gags Ratlhaga and Machake

The battle for the control of Botswana Football League (BFL) took a crazy turn this past Friday as Botswana Football Association (BFA) Emergency Committee (EC) hit Masitaoka chairman Godfrey Ratlhaga with a suspension.

He was suspended along with fellow BFL shareholder and Matebele Football Club’s Lame Machake. The duo was part of a group of shareholders’ representatives who closed the BFL offices and forced the league secretariat to go on a three day leave on Thursday 28th February 2024.

Among others, the group is also said to have included Township Rollers chairman Bafana Pheto and Pilikwe United’s Fobby Radipotsane, just to mention two. The decision to close the BFL offices was an escalation of the ongoing battle for the control of the league.
