Botswana Investment and Trade Centre (BITC) has announced that Botswana companies will be participating at the Maputo International and multi-sector fair, FACIM, in Maputo, Mozambique starting August 29th ÔÇô September 2nd 2016. According to BITC, the export mission is part of its ongoing efforts to assist local companies in accessing outside markets to sell their goods and services.
“Botswana investment and Trade Centre will send eight (8) Botswana companies to participate at the Expo representing a variety of products among them; Medical Surgical Equipment Towels, Fresh Beef, Corned beef, PVC Pipes and tanks, Smart phones, Furniture & Household Cleaning Chemicals and Arts & Crafts. Such missions aim to promote Botswana, as a country and also stimulate market access of Botswana products as well as to avail a platform for Botswana companies to foster new business for export,” reads a statement from BITC.
Companies such as Thompson Medical, Botswana Meat Commission, Flotek, Nortex, DitecMobile Botswana, GabzBedding, and artist Akanyang Doris Ntshingane were named as participants of the FACIM general fair, which was identified by BITC as a suitable business and networking platform with potential to help Botswana companies to explore possible market opportunities. The objective of the fair is to promote commercial activities, to stimulate production and consumption, and the economic integration of Mozambique into the world economy. According to information from BITC, the companies will have an opportunity to showcase their products and services to a wider African market, as well as have pre-scheduled meetings with potential buyers, partners and distributors.
“The fair has seen a significant growth in visitor attendance and exhibitors over the last five years, making it one of Africa’s premier business gatherings. It is for this reason that FACIM will continue to be a key event in BITC’s annual calendar as we strive in our mandate,” said BITC. FACIM, considered a meeting point for producers, salespersons, investors, importers, exporters, buyers is said to have attracted over 31 foreign countries and over 90 thousand visitors in 2015.
