Botswana begins life without Unleaded 93 

Botswana has begun life without unleaded 93 petrol following a decision by the Botswana Energy Regulatory Authority (BERA) to discontinue the fuel grade effective February 1. The shift marks the end of an era for the most widely used petrol in the country, as motorists now transition to unleaded 95 petrol and, in some cases, diesel.  

According to BERA Acting Chief Operations Manager, Gift Bakumbi, petrol stations are selling off their remaining stocks of unleaded 93, with no new supplies entering the market. Truckers have now begun transporting unleaded 95, diesel, and paraffin into the country as part of the transition.
