Botswana carries fiscal challenges into 2025 with ‘reforms’

Botswana is preparing for a challenging fiscal year in 2025/2026, according to the Budget Strategy Paper 2025 prepared by the Ministry of Finance. The document outlines a projected Total Revenues and Grants of P85.4 billion against an expenditure of P96.7 billion, leaving a budget deficit of P11.3 billion, equivalent to 3.6 percent of GDP.
