Botswana Oil claims citizen trucking boom—But are the wheels really turning?

Botswana Oil Limited claims to have significantly increased the ownership of citizen-operated trucks within the fuel transportation industry, aiming to empower more local entrepreneurs. According to Thabo Simon, the Senior Manager for Commercial at Botswana Oil, the company has reportedly raised citizen ownership from 3 percent to 25 percent, which now translates to 116 Batswana out of the 400 trucks transporting fuel in the country.
