The BotswanaPost launch of the Poso Cloud platform targets to solve the needs ranging from SMME’s to large enterprises. The Cloud Server which is affordable and flexible enough for businesses in the SME and large market segment delivers reliability, scalability and uptime.
PC was done in partnership with Cloud Seed Botswana (CSB) which is part of an ICT outfit headquartered in South Africa.
Poso Cloud will provide reliable, affordable, enterprise speed internet connectivity and cloud solutions, offering cloud connect with high speed internet connectivity. In addition it offers cloud site, an extension of the cloud connect product suite providing businesses with turn-key network solution within the office.
Poso Cloud also offers the cloud hot spots both public and corporate hot spots, available both via terrestrial and satellite connection. The cloud solutions layered on the cloud connect include mail, calendaring, storage, procurement.
The wi-fi “Poso Cloud” is already live at the Sir Seretse Khama International Airport (SSKIA), Maun International Airport, Francistown Airport.

Moleta said through such initiatives like the Poso Cloud and other initiatives in the pipeline they are confident to achieve the goal of being a P500 million worth organisation by 2016.Cloud services offer the additional benefit of redundancy as business servers are not hosted in the offices and thus not vulnerable to theft or damage in the event of a catastrophe.
Through the Poso Cloud individuals and companies can run applications online on a remote server, instead of through physical hardware.
Connie Storom the Chief Executive Officer at Cloud Seed Botswana indicated that they are ready to roll-out the service to the whole country and set up connectivity to facilitate easy internet access.

Storom revealed that they have developed specialized mobile computer labs connected via satellite with 19 computer workstations, the mobile bus can be used as internet caf├® anywhere in the country, a wi-fi hotspot and even mobile library.
