Broadhurst Nissan will sponsor this year’s Nissan sports adventure to the tune of P45 000 cash.
This will be the second year running they are sponsoring the event, whose past immediate sponsor was Nandos.
Grant Buckmaster, the race director, told The Telegraph that “an additional P30 000 will be used for logistical support, advertising and prizes”.
He also said that they were hoping for an energy drink to sponsor the event, which will be staged on the 20th of June.
“There are trophies and prize money for each category winner, and second place in the main event,” Buckmaster said. “Nissan will provide Nissan merchandise as spot and lucky dip prizes.”
He, however, did not reveal further details.
The challenge is a bush multi-sport event primarily aimed at relay teams, but caters for individuals in canoeing/kayaking, hiking/bush running, and mountain biking in the Gaborone Dam area, Kgale and Mokolodi areas.
Individual participants will register at P250 each, adventure teams at P500 per team, while relay teams will enter at P750 per team.
This year marks the sixth season that the challenge adventure has been running.
