BSE equity boost offset by Jan-Feb turnover

The Botswana Stock Exchange (BSE) kicked off 2025 with a blend of resilience and restraint, as detailed in its latest market performance report for the period spanning 1 January to 28 February. Amid global economic headwinds, the Domestic Company Index (DCI) posted a respectable 1.9 percent gain, outpacing the 0.9 percent uptick recorded in the same period last year. The Domestic Company Total Return Index (DCTR) shone brighter, climbing 2.9 percent compared to 1 percent in 2024, signaling a robust start for local equities. Meanwhile, the Foreign Company Index (FCI) barely budged, eking out a 0.004 percent rise—a stark contrast to its 0.01 percent dip in 2024.
