to take off

The objective of the up-coming 2011/2012 Budget Pitso has been extended beyond the group of participating local authority and House of Chiefs. The Ministry of Finance and Development Planning is expected to host the Pitso, which will include enlightening participants on the process involved in the preparation of the Budget and Budget Speech as well as national Development Plans. The Budget Pitso is scheduled for August 4, for general stakeholders and another one is scheduled for August 18 for Members of Parliament.

MYSC to host workshop

The Ministry of Youth, Sport and Culture is expected to host Constituency Tournament Impact Study Stakeholder Workshop. The Ministry has established a Task Team mandated to evaluate, review and conduct an impact analysis of the constituency tournaments programme. The Task Team has organised the workshop to receive inputs and feedback on constituency tournaments impact. The workshop is expected to be a day’s event and is scheduled for August 6 at Mokolodi World View.

ATN to host mapping workshop

Anti Tobacco Network (ATN) is expected to host a workshop that is expected to achieve and be able to identify which tobacco control policy objectives ought to be pursued in Botswana over the coming year based on what is achievable and suitable within the identified political context. ATN is also expected to identify what capacity gaps need to be addressed for effective tobacco control policy direction within Botswana. The workshop will largely be a participatory discussion and will be facilitated by local and regional tobacco control experts from the Africa Tobacco Control Consortium. ATN planning workshop is scheduled for September 13-14 2 at President Hotel.

Builders’ conference and exposition slated for September

Building Botswana Conference and Exposition 2011 is expected to be highlighted by the awards of Botswana’s number one builder competition winners. It is also a major initiative by the Department of Building and Engineering Services. Exhibitors expected include materials suppliers, interior designers, equipment suppliers and landscape and outdoor works. Participants expected are construction firms, architects, banks, and quantity surveyors. It is scheduled for Fairgrounds September 15-17.

BOCCIM golf
day on cards

Botswana Confederation of Commerce and Industry (BOCCIM) is expected to hold business golf day at Phakalane golf estate. The event is also expected to allow Botswana premier businesses, both large and small, from all sectors of the economy to display their products and pitch their businesses for effective marketing. The newly elected President of BOCCIM, Mr. Alex Monchusi, will be the guest speaker at the dinner, which will be attended by senior officials, High Commissioners, captains of Industry and golfers.   The event is scheduled for August 5.
