Christmas in the main mall with Mayor Harry Mothei & GTV

This Festive Season is set to be an exceptional one for dwellers of Gaborone and the under privileged communities of the city, according to recent news from the GTV Botswana Offices.

An overwhelming 4 meter high traditional Christmas tree is to be erected in the Main Mall, at the Arch opposite the Civic Centre in Gaborone, where the Mayor of Gaborone City, Harry Mothei, will be officially kick starting a phenomenal gift-drive coordinated by new pay TV service provider; GTV Botswana.

The tree is to be present in the Main Mall from the Unveiling Ceremony on Thursday 13th December 2007 until Friday 28th December 2007, where corporate companies, businesses in the Main Mall and other bodies operating in the area as well as members of the public have been invited to bring forth gifts of all sorts for placement under the tree.
Mayor Mothei is to place the first gift under the tree, as well as members of Parliament and representatives of various Ministries. The Gaborone City Council is said to be on call to collect all gifts at the end of the gift-drive, for distribution to various worthy beneficiaries.

“Since our launch in August 2007, Batswana have welcomed us into the market warmly and so we saw it only fit to plough back into the community we operate in with support of the various government bodies, corporates and members of the media whom we have invited to the gift-drive,” noted Kagiso Mere, Sales Manager of GTV Botswana.

In organizing this Xmas Stunt with a difference, GTV is expected to also have a TV screen stationed at the Main Mall from where guests and members of the public alike can enjoy the various channels and content on offer from GTV and get a preview of the entertainment awaiting them this Festive Season. “As a business whose product is compatible to the whole family, our intention is to meet new and existing customers and strengthen relationships with them while at the same time providing more information about our services and working together towards the upliftment of underprivileged communities in this, our capital city, all at the same time,” Mere said.

The GTV Xmas Stunt ties in with the organisation’s current promotion of less P320 for installation in ‘the spirit of giving’, making it much easier for all to get connected to GTV. GTV Management and staff is expected to be present during the activity, where members of the public interested in ‘giving their family the gift of great entertainment and giving their TV sets a new life this holiday season,’ can meet them and get more information on their services.
