Companies Act Amendment: Transparency up, SME costs rise

Botswana is rolling out a sweeping update to its corporate framework with the proposed Companies (Amendment) Act of 2025, tightening the screws on governance and financial disclosure. The latest in a series of reforms—following the original 2003 Companies Act, effective July 3, 2007, and a significant 2022 amendment signed into law on February 25, 2022—this overhaul aims to polish the nation’s business credentials.
