DIS probes BPOMAS possible “national security breach

The Directorate of Intelligence and Security Services is understood to be investigating a possible national security breach following reports that confidential information on Botswana’s intelligence officers, senior government officers, Botswana Defence Force and Botswana Police Service officers is being passed to a company in South Africa.

The DIS is understood to have initiated the investigation following a tip off that Botswana Public Officers’ Medical Aid Scheme (BPOMAS) new administrators, HRMB does not have have an Information Technology Office (IT) in Botswana and the function has been outsourced to their South African based technical partner, PPSHA.
