A joint investigation between law enforcement agencies is underway to track down suspected Nigerian drug lords believed to have suffocated to death three family members of Molepolole recently.
This comes on the heels of reports that the surviving family member Tebogo Ramantosha, aged 28 is missing. He is suspected to have been kidnapped or murdered by the suspected Nigerian nationals.
Information passed to this publication suggests that police, Directorate of Security intelligence Service (DISS) and the Military Intelligence (MI) have launched joint investigations to trace the whereabouts of perpetrators alleged to have suffocated to death three family members.
It is understood that dozens of foreign suspected nationals are being questioned by the law enforcement agencies following the incident. Reports indicate that some of the deceased family members had some suspicious links with suspected Nigerian drug lords who are strongly believed to have murdered the family. The director of Criminal Intelligence Bureau (CRIB) detective senior police commissioner Nunu Lesetedi confirmed that joint investigations between the law enforcement agencies are underway to crack the case.
He said they continue to receive information that might eventually lead to the arrest of the perpetrators, adding that investigations were complex.
“At the moment I would not want to disclose what kind of information we have received, but there are allegations that suggest foreign national drug lords might be involved,” he said. He added that they will follow each and every tip off that will lead to the arrest of the suspects.
“It is true that we are looking for one family member who is currently missing but we do not know his whereabouts. We do not have any clue on his whereabouts,” said Lesetedi.
When asked whether the family was linked to drug dealers he replied:“I cannot simply suggest that because investigations are still ongoing.”
He stated that he is optimistic that they will crack the case and urged the public to continue assisting the police with any information that will lead to the arrest of the assailants. The deceased family memebers, a couple and their son were found dead in the house that they were sleeping on the 22 of last month in Molepolole.
