Botswana’s appetite for foreign food and beverages hit a high note in December 2024, with imports in this category clocking in at P1,322.2 million, a hefty 16.7 percent slice of the country’s total P7,927.2 million import bill, according to Statistics Botswana. This festive-season boom underscores a growing reliance on global supply chains, as urban lifestyles and rising incomes reshape consumption patterns.
