Former British minister becomes Khama’s propagandist

Last year, Lord Hain asked a question in the House of Lords about what plans then British Prime Minister Boris Johnson and the British High Commissioner to South Africa had “to meet former President of Botswana Ian Khama to discuss why he was forced to flee to South Africa.”

The response by Lord Goldsmith, the Minister for Overseas Territories, Commonwealth, Energy, Climate and Environment, was that “there have not been, nor are there any planned discussions between former President Khama and representatives of the United Kingdom Government on these issues.” He added that Khama “has not sought the assistance of the UK Government.”
