Lobatse High Court has handed a Botswana International University of Science & Technology (BUIST) whistle blower a big win in a case that alleges corruption, maladmistration and abuse of office by the university Vice Chancellor Professor Otlogetswe Totolo.
High Court judge, Justice Reuben Lekorwe last week ruled that public interest in whistle blowing should trump the employer’s interest in maintaining confidentiality.”
This was after BIUST approached the High Court to interdict its employer (names withheld) who had shared the damning report against the vice-chancellor with other senior management of the institution.
