G7 delegation releases report as Botswana braces for imposed certification

The G7 diamond technical delegation has just released a fact sheet following their recent visit at the invitation of the government of Botswana. 

The fact-finding mission conducted by the delegation representing the G7 countries followed a decision by the G7 to centralize certification of diamonds in Europe which directive stirred concerns among diamond-producing nations, including Botswana.

A September deadline has been set for the certification. The move, aimed at blocking Russian diamonds from entering the G7 market, has raised questions about its implications for countries heavily reliant on diamond exports.
