Jwaneng Galaxy coach Zlatko Krompotic is optimistic his men can overturn the 1 ÔÇô 0 deficit suffered at the hands of Mozambican side Costa Do Sol and progress to the next round of the Total CAF Confederations Cup.
Galaxy, who are making their debut in the continental club championships hosts Costa Do Sol at the National Stadium in Gaborone tomorrow (Wednesday) night.
“We have to play without mistakes and give out 110% of what we have on the field so as to win at least 2-0 to enable us to go on the next stage of the tournament,” Krompotic said.
With this being first appearance in Africa competition, Krompotic noted that they are not only in it to learn, but also to show case their ability against the continent’s best football teams.
The same sentiments were echoed by Galaxy captain Boitumelo Mafoko, who said while “You can never be to ready for a game as football is a game of the unknown possibilities,” they are optimistic.
Having played the first leg away in Mozambique, Mafoko was hopeful that playing on home ground will give the local boys advantage.
He further noted that while Costa Do Sol has quite handful young, energetic players, that will not deter Galaxy from their mission.
For his part, Costa Do Sol captain Isac de Carvalho said they are expecting a tough game as Galaxy is now playing home. He however said his team is ready for the game.
“We are ready to control Galaxy and put on a good fight to win this game,” said Carvalho.
The Costa Do Sol captain hinted that while this round will be more about defence for them, they will however not forget their mandate, which is to score and win.
