Grant Thornton unveils new logo

Grant Thornton Botswana recently adopted a new global identity and logo, making them instantly recognizable as part of the Grant Thornton International organization. This company, which is the largest leading professional service firm in Botswana, this week hosted a cocktail function for its clients whose objective was to share the joyous moment of their firm’s re-branding.

Leonard Brehm highlighted that Raja Ram, the founder of Grant Thornton Acumen, took a very small company in the early 80s and has grown it from strength to strength. He stated that Grant Thornton Botswana is a very excellent firm to be associated with.

Grant Thornton Botswana, he said, has indeed played a significant role in establishing itself.

“I would like to congratulate you for taking this step. This is a very important step, and Grant Thornton International is proud and wishes you a bright future,” he said.

Brehm further said that what is more of an advantage with the Grant Thornton firms is the referable work from other countries, meaning that it is easy to work with clients from other countries. He highlighted that Grant Thornton firm provides Big 4 strategy to the giant multinational clients.

Expressing his gratitude to Ram, Gulaam Abdoola, who has witnessed Grant Thornton’s growth since 1986 as a client, said where this firm started and where it is today is a very successful story.

“Ram has committed himself and this firm is here to grow and to serve,” he said.
Explaining further, Abdoola pointed out that Grant Thornton makes life easier for many businesses as they spread out because it is represented worldwide. He revealed that it is represented in 113 countries and has 521 offices world-wide with over 25 thousand employees and generated fees of about US$2.8 billon. “Ever since its inception, Grant Thornton Botswana continued to perform well and I have no regret in believing in it,” he said.

Jay Ramesh, a Grant Thornton Partner, explained that Grant Thornton’s local, regional and international reach is well founded and can be utilized without any barriers. He said this can be achieved across various service lines, including specialized service lines like Transaction Advisory Services, Equity and debt structuring and raising, corporate recovery and turnaround services, Insolvency services, transfer secretarial services and specialized tax consultancy. “Audit, accounting company secretarial are our traditional service lines and continue to be provided,” said Ramesh.

According to Ramesh, they have adopted the name Grant Thornton in place of Grant Thornton Acumen, and have also changed their logo. “The logo consists of the symbol, the colour and the Grant Thornton ‘word mark’ together expressing a bold, confident and cohesive global organization,” he explained.

Even though the name has changed, Ramesh assured the clients that Grant Thornton Botswana will continue to work and serve them with the Acumen they have also associated them with. He revealed that many young partners have joined their team to ensure that Grant Thornton passionate service levels are maintained. “You can rest assured that the experience combined with energy will provide you with excellence,” he noted.
Grant Thornton International Ltd is one of the world’s leading organizations of independently owned and managed accounting and consulting firms providing assurance, tax and specialist advisory services to privately held businesses and public interest entities.

The firm strives to be a bold and positive leader in its chosen markets and within the global accounting profession. David McDonnell, Chief Executive Officer of Grant Thornton International, states, “The global accounting profession needs leaders who are prepared to speak out on issues that matter to business and to the wider public. Our new brand is another step in differentiating Grant Thornton in the marketplace.”
