Groove CarteLL make waves in the USA

With a little over a week on their United States of America tour, local house music duo Groove CarteLL through their record label, Total Music Solutions seem to be partying up a storm and doing an awesome job at it in the land of opportunities.

Groove CarteLL was awarded this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity through the organization and connections made by a New York based Motswana music promoter, Ketshepilemang Baleseng, through his company Let Em Entertainment.

Seabelo Modibe, their record label director, said the reception thus far has been over whelming.
“Wherever we play people love our music here. We believe our next tour will be bigger. In this business you can only speculate the future but we are definitely coming to the US resources permitting and time,” said Modibe.

He added that US tour has served as a learning experience for him as an entrepreneur. It is also enhancing their growth in cultural diversity which comes with exposure to different societies.

“We are learning every day the business side of things as well as the culture and the art in the US. We have met and recorded songs with quite a number of amazing talented artists,” said Modibe.

Groove CarteLL is comprises Kagiso Molosiwa (German Dollar) and Thebe Malipiti (DJ TCM). They are a House Produduction/DJ Duo and have been together for the past 12 years. The group together with Seabelo Modibe who is their manager and has signed them in his record label grew up together in the streets of Block 5, a suburb in Gaborone Botswana and have been working together for the past the 10 years to create beautiful music. Groove CarteLL so far has two albums to date, ‘Explosive House’ and ‘Illicit House’ both released through EMI Music.

The group has over the years produced chart-topping songs such as ‘You Got Me Singing’, ‘Breath Life’, ‘Basking In the Sunlight’ and ‘You are Love’.

They have worked with internationally renowned artist like Harrison Crump, DJ Spen, Spiritchaser, Bhoddhi Satva, Ndinga Gaba, Dave Storm, and Kafele Bandele. Their music is available on Itunes and other digital music stores worldwide. This trip to the USA was partly funded by the Department of Arts and Culture and supported by Brand Botswana.

“The purpose of this trip firstly was to create a footprint in USA and learn the industry and use that when we get back to Botswana to grow Groove CarteLL and my label Total Music Solutions. This has been achieved multifold and we know exactly what we going to do when we get back home,” said Modibe.

Left with performances in Baltimore, Washington DC and the Big Apple (New York) they will be back next week Tuesday. Having made their mark in the USA, they intend to conquer the world.
