As we are quickly approaching the last 100 days of 2010, this would the time to ask yourself whether you’ve achieved what you set out to achieve at the beginning of the year. Have you made 2010 the year you dreamt you would make of it? Or have you long given up on your hopes, dreams and New Year’s resolutions you had for the year? Have you achieved all that you had planned to achieve at this point in time or are you a little left behind? Are you willing to let 2010 be yet another year full of excuses and empty promises?
If you are a little left behind then you have a final chance to redeem yourself in the last 100 days. First what you need to do to take remedial action is to get out your original to do list and edit it down to two or three critical goals that if achieved will build your confidence and self worth the most – besides not all goals are created equal.
Once you have re-prioritized your goals then you can begin by asking yourself how differently are you going to have to behave daily or weekly in order to achieve those goals. You see, the reason why people don’t achieve their goals is because they set goals but then they don’t pair them up with behavior change goals that are critical to goal achievement. People set goals and then continue being the same people they have always been and then act surprised if the goal is not reached.
Once you have identified behavior modifications that you need to implement to guarantee or increase your chances of goal achievement then you need to take action immediately to reinforce the new pattern of behavior.  Instead of getting started, most people prefer to wait for illusion of the so called perfect moment or for a time when they are 100% confident which never comes. Confidence is not built by sitting around, confidence is built by doing, getting things wrong, messing things up and starting all over again while trying to reach the target. If you shy away from trying new things because you are waiting to feel confident first then you will never get started at anything.
To make remarkable comeback you need to break you goals into bite sized chunks and take each chunk one small step at a time. However, most people look at the big picture goal they have and wonder if they will ever be able to achieve it. Without realizing that if only they had broken the goal down into bite sized chunks, they would have had the confidence to action their goals one piece meal at a time. So if you want to maintain your edge, you may want to stop looking too much ahead of your game. Instead you may want to keep your eyes on what needs to be done next and focus on getting it down, rather than worry about whether you will ever be able to get it done.
As the year draws to a close, and if you are to make remarkable comeback, it is critical that you discipline your focus because the other reason why we don’t achieve our goals is not because we don’t have the capacity to do so but rather because we are allow ourselves to be easily distracted. This is why it is important to differentiate between things that you could do and things that you have to do. Just because you could do it doesn’t mean you have to do it.
The primary difference maker between winners and losers is that champions always follow through to the finish what they started and they are most often stronger in the end than in the beginning. Losers on the other hand always start strong but are weak towards the end.
To make sure that you finish the year with a bang we have put together a half day seminar called Unstoppable Confidence on 20th September at The President Hotel. For only P675.00 you will acquire insights, tips and tactics to ensure that 2010 goes down in history as “the year you made a remarkable comeback.”┬á┬á
We have all heard inspiring stories of people coming back from behind to win the game in the closing seconds of the game. In the last 100 days of 2010 you also have a chance to stage a magnificent comeback, but you need to have the right mindset and skills to seize and maximize opportunities,┬á that is what this seminar is about. When it’s all said and done, 2010 will be what you made it to be not what you hoped it will be.
