In just three weeks, Ideas Expo will be kick starting its fifth edition. After four years of successfully highlighting creative answers to commercial questions, this year’s installment is expected to be bigger and better with speakers of note gracing the event from creative industries of various countries.
Ideas ExpoÔÇöthe only commercially creative platform in Botswana, will gather the best international creative minds together with local innovators to share, inspire, and debate the future of creative industries. Slated for June 4 to June 6, the overarching theme for this year’s Ideas Expo Creative Week is ‘Ideas without borders’. “In our fifth year, expectations are high and we are fully prepared to meet the challenge,” said co-founder Calvin Bosilong.
Listed below are the ten highly pedigreed confirmed speakers lined up for Ideas Expo 2015:
Michael Goldberg is an experienced venture capitalist and international business leader. He has conducted seminars on behalf of the US Department of State on entrepreneurship in Cambodia, Czech Republic, Germany, Greece, Laos, Macedonia, Morocco, Myanmar, Spain, Tunisia and Vietnam.
Khaya Dlanga, the senior communications manager of creative excellence and digital at Coca-Cola South Africa has been awarded more than 15 advertising awards, including many Loeries, a Gold Cannes Lion and a Black Eagle. He was named in Jeremy Maggs’ book, Annual 2008 on Advertising, Media and Marketing as one of the “100 most influential people in media”.
Musa Kalenga, a Zambian born seasoned speaker, is currently a client value partner for Facebook Sub Saharan Africa. He was named the youngest chartered marketer in Africa at age 27. He founded Monatefellaz, a marketing and research consultancy specialising in young consumers.
Pepe Marais is the chief creative officer and founding partner of Joe Public United (South Africa). His Agency was named Financial Mail AdFocus’s Advertising Agency of the Year for 2012.
Gabriel Mothibedi is a Motswana communication designer and design educator at the University of Botswana in the Department of Industrial Design. He is also the founder of Imagine Studios.
Dr Carla Enslin is a founding member and national academic head of The IEE Vega School of Brand Leadership (South Africa). She is also the deputy chair of the Brand Council of South Africa and a project head of Platform 6, a World Design Capital initiative.
Bakang Seretse is the Managing Director of Afena Capital Botswana and a founding partner in the firm.
Didier is the Creative Director & Founder Magents Apparel (South Africa).
Kelvin Twissa is head of branding and communications at Vodacom (Tanzania).He was listed under the ’20 Most Influential Young People’ in Tanzania.
Botlhe Makgekgenene is the co-founder of Bullsheep (Design Studio) and Image Lounge (Photo Studio) in Botswana.
