IEC voters roll soft copy leaked to UDC?

A soft copy of the Independent Electoral Commission’s (IEC) voter’s roll for the upcoming 2024 general elections has allegedly been leaked to Madibela Tlhopho, amid claims by the commission that the law bars them from sharing it with political parties.

The document reportedly contains the voter information for all 61 constituencies across Botswana. Madibela Tlhopho is an official Umbrella for Democratic Change (UDC) group of election spotters, endorsed by the UDC national executive committee (NEC) and a project under the office of the UDC president Duma Boko.

IEC Spokesperson, Osupile Maroba told the Sunday Standard that they have heard of the leaked soft copy, he however insisted that it does not come from the IEC.
