Fairground Holdings will once again combine this year’s Information Technology (ITEX) and the Food & Beverages Exhibitions (FOBEX), which are expected to run from July 30 ÔÇô 01 August at Gaborone International Showgrounds.
The exhibitions will be divided into thematic categories for easy routing by visitors.
ITEX will welcome categories, such as educational institutions, business solutions, IT solution providers, office automation and supplies, communication/ telecommunication and consumer electronics.
FOBEX, on the other hand, will have categories like food and beverages, food catering, food technology, hospitality services and retail and franchise.
The three-day ‘bites and bytes exhibitions’ are expected to attract foreign exhibitors who will be gathering market information and technology updates, meeting with suppliers and buyers, sourcing for products and services as well as establishing new distribution channels and agents.
Speaking at a breakfast show held at Boipuso Hall on Wednesday, Deputy President for Botswana Information Technology Society, Thilo Naicker, said they expect the event to be all about innovative solutions.
“We hope that exhibitors will be innovative and be able to show that their products are worth exporting out of the country as well as importing into the country by the foreign exhibitors,” Naicker said. She further said exhibitors should think out of the box so as to attract many visitors to their stalls.
Frieda Bamu, Fairs and Exhibitions Manager, stated that this year the two will be running with a similar theme which is Networking-Connecting-Entertaining, “Information is the New Currency” and “Raw Material of the Knowledge driven economy”.
ITEX is Botswana’s premier Information Communication Technology (ICT) exhibition that brings together ICT service providers, buyers, users, stakeholders, government agencies and the public to promote networking, information and knowledge sharing in the ICT industry. It has also been re-branded to reenergize the event and add value to the exhibitors and visitors.
FOBEX on the other hand is Botswana’s premier food and beverages in the country that boasts perennial support from organizations that are in the industry.
FOBEX has also become a platform for local, regional, and international hospitality businesses to interact and promote the necessary linkages for the growth of the industry. The key output of this exhibition is innovation, human and technological development, through seminars and product demonstrations.
Fairground Holdings is inviting international, regional and local exhibitors to come and establish their presence in the market, attract new business contacts and new customers, launch new products, reinforce their positions in the marketplace, display entire product range and to also test new products and ideas.
