Investors Breathe a New Lease of Life into The Football League

The arrival of new investors at Extension Gunners and Mochudi Centre Chiefs seems to have breathed a new lease of life into the Botswana Football League (BFL).

Both teams’ announcements of investors came barely two weeks apart. As expected, the arrival has aroused a lot of expectations and hope among supporters. This was palpable when the two teams met a weekend ago in a premier league match in Lobatse.

The game, played in front of a near capacity crowd was a celebration in song and dance despite ending in a goalless stalemate. For the Botswana Premier League (BPL), the game was an advert of the capability of the local league.
