Is South Africa Becoming a Pariah State?

If you have seen South Africa in the era of apartheid and make comparisons with its current state now, one would clearly understand that there is a lot going on which is not right in that country. Apartheid was immoral, illegal and appalling and there can never be sufficient justification for its existence. My point is not to glorify it but rather it is just an administrative comparison. Lawlessness is growing by the day in South Africa and it seems those in power are perplexed and don’t even know what they can do to normalise things.

They are busy on the feeding trough and are not aware that the country is quickly sliding into anarchy. South Africa resembles South American countries such like Mexico and Colombia where drug cartels are thriving at the expense of the rule of law. This past week, the United States of America government issued a travel advisory for all those intending to travel to the Mexico.  This comes after three women who are all US citizens went missing after entering Mexico via a Texas land boarder. In South Africa, criminal gangs are largely running and roaming free. It started with the slaughter of police officers who were numbered into their hundreds in a year. This is when the criminal gangs were testing the will of the state. The state faltered and this is why the country is in a mess right now.
