Fresh projections by a number of economic authorities have confirmed earlier reports by The Sunday Standard that Vice President and Minister of Finance, Ndaba Gaolathe’s maiden budget was overly optimistic.
The Sunday Standard reported earlier this year that Gaolathe was “hoping against hope in his forecast that Botswana’s economy will grow by 3.3% this year due to an expected recovery in the global diamond market.”
