The founder of Leadership Nurturing, Hannah Lecha, who is also a John Maxwell Certified Team member, is set to host the local version of the Global Youth Initiative, a world-changing youth movement that seeks to empower youth in communities around the world to thrive in life.
The programme is ran through the John Maxwell Team Global Youth Initiative, an international movement comprising hundreds of free community events with topics ranging from leadership development, to anti-bullying, self-esteem and more.
John Maxwell is an American author, speaker, and pastor who has written many books, primarily focusing on leadership.
The goal of the Global Youth Initiative seeks to serve half a million young people through free youth leadership events in the world. The series of events is being held worldwide from Monday, April 24 through Sunday, April 30, 2017 in large cities and small villages locally and internationally.
Lecha, Botswana’s John Maxwell Certified Team member is expected to host the local version this coming week under the theme, “I Love Myself” in Maun, Francistown and Gaborone respectively.
“Today’s youth face many challenges: they struggle with acceptance, confidence, low self-esteem, fear of failure, and bullying. As parents, teachers and leaders, we can do something about it! We are honoured to be part of the JMT Global Youth Initiative – world-changing youth movement that will empower youth to overcome some of the challenges that they face,” said Lecha in a brief statement.
The admission to the three-leg event is free for all children and youth, ages 8-18. The first lap of the event is to be held in Maun on April 25, followed by the second one in Francistown on April 27, as well as the final lap in the capital Gaborone on the April 29, 2017.
