High Court Judge, Zein Kebonang has filed a report with the Commissioner of Police claiming that the Sunday Standard newspaper and the Directorate of Intelligence and Security Services (DIS) have teamed up to defame him.
This follows a series of articles based on court documents published exclusively by the Sunday Standard. The latest story, published two weeks ago, was based on court record which suggested that Justice Kebonang was on Choppies payroll up to a year after he was appointed High Court judge. The court records further suggested that Justice Kebonang may have lied under oath, when he stated in a sworn statement that payments from Choppies ceased in October 2017, three months after he was appointed judge.
