Majawa and Ndlovu net monthly BPL gongs

Township Rollers defensive midfielder Lawrence Majawa and Orapa United Coach Madinda Ndlovu are the winners of the monthly Botswana Premier League (BPL) Player of the Month and Coach of the Month for November respectively. The two were selected by BPL’s Technical Study Group (TSG) following their performances this month. Both the player and the coach were very influential as their different teams went unbeaten in the beMobile Premiership during the period.

While Majawa has done his job marshalling a very tight Rollers defence that has only been breached eight times this season, Ndlovu on the other hand has overseen a very productive month that has resulted in his charges now perched second on the BPL log behind Rollers. Tasked with the unenviable task of doing the dirty job in the Rollers midfield, Majawa has been a calming presence as ‘Popa’ continues their unbeaten league run. Though he looked out of sorts last season, Majawa now seems to have recaptured the form that made him one of the fan favourites at Rollers. Just this month alone, the player, who is affectionately known as ‘The Lawmaker,’ by his legion of supporters, has been a marvel to watch and featured heavily as Rollers scored seven goals and conceded just one in their last two games.

Coach Madinda Ndlovu on the other hand has been recognised for his stellar job which saw his team emphatically winning all their two BPL matches this month. Having joined a team known to do well at home and lose games on the road, Ndlovu has now turned Orapa United into a team capable of winning both home and away. After masterminding his team’s emphatic 4 ÔÇô 0 win over Green Lovers at the beginning of the month, the Zimbabwean gaffer then led his team to a 3 ÔÇô 1 victory over the inform Gilport Lions away from home this past weekend. The victory followed swiftly on Orapa United’s 3 ÔÇô 1 thrashing of Extension Gunners away from home in the Mascom Top 8 just a week ago.
