This year the Mascom annual booster bash comes with a brand new style, away from the norm where there is one massive show. A tour where the people of Ghanzi, Serowe, Molepolole and Francistown will be treated to what otherwise was always reserved for Gaborone will precede the show.
The theme for this year’s booster bash is “Go big and go home,” featuring the legendary Stimela as the highlight of the main event. Samantha Mogwe will also be performing her latest hits to the crowd while the shows outside Gaborone will feature artists from their respective vicinities.
Organisers this year are targeting the cultural tourist, music enthusiasts, cultural and social activists, celebrities, media and fun lovers from all over.
The biggest event, scheduled to be on December 31, will be held at Mmopane and promoters have indicated that it will boast “The biggest Marquee event in Botswana which will be the mother of all festivals.”
The official line up will consist of Stimela, Samantha Mogwe, Tshedi Mholo, Wizards of the Desert, Mandoza, Kabelo (Bouga Love), Groove Cartell and on the tracks will be Dj Kops, Dj Eddi Ed, Dj Kriss, Dj Gouveia, Dj Khenzo and Dj Lexx Franix.
To add a twist, the organisers have made an “early bird special” such that the first 4000 buyers will be able to get tickets for P100, the tickets will there after go for P150 and the extremely late buyers will have to part with P200 at the gate. There will be exclusive VIP section tickets which will cost P500 and will come with a complimentary Stimela CD and a Tshirt.
The 2013 Booster bash will be sponsored by Mascom Wireless, Ministry of Youth Sports and Culture, Botlhe Medical Aid, Kgalagadi Breweries/Miller MGD, DC Tours and the Grand Palm Hotel & GICC.
