“I am not going to leave this land. I will die a martyr at the end. I shall remain defiant. Muammar is the leader of the revolution until the end.” Muammar Gaddafi said this on his televised address in Tripoli on the 22 February 2011.
True to his words, Gaddafi was killed by agents of imperialism in Libya on the 20th October 2011, exactly 8 month after this historic speech. He never left Libya. He died a martyr and was defiant to the end. Remember, Muammar Gaddafi unleashed a well calculated and planned coup to oust a typical African Despot in 1969 to usher a new hope for Libyans. Proponents of his toppling were only alive to the fact that he had ruled Libya for so long and therefore he has to leave. They forgot to consider that this great leader has taken Libya from a poor desert African country to make it one of the best world economies envied by all, even these imperialist states, like France, United Kingdom, and ensured that Libyans lived in comfort and Libyans never sought economic refuge anywhere in the world. He selflessly ensured that areas of security, food, medicine, and the family harmony are well in place. Through his green books, he would not shy away from stipulating his ambitious plans for his people and Africans as a whole. This is one great leader that posterity will judge him positively. Besides advocating for the United States of Africa (U.S.A) with one currency and one good president like himself. He did the following good things for Libyans.
(a. There were no electricity bills in Libya. Electricity was free for all its citizens.
(b). There was no interest on loans. Banks in Libya were state owned and loans to all its citizens at 0% interest by law.
(c). Home was considered a human right in Libya by his government. All newlyweds in Libya receive about 60.000 Dinar (about 50.000 US Dollars) from the government to buy their first apartment so to help them start a family.
(d). Education and medical treatment were free in Libya. Before Gaddafi only 25% of Libyans were literate. He left over 83% Libyans being literate.
(e). During his tenure, if Libyans wanted to venture into farming, he would provide them with farming land, farming house, equipments, seeds and livestock to kick start farms- All for free.
(f). If Libyans could not find the education or medical facilities they need in Libya, the government would fund them to go abroad for it ÔÇô not only free but- they got ,$2.300/ month accommodation and car allowance.
(g). If a Libyan bought a car, the government subsidized 50% of the price.
(h). the price of petrol was $0.14 per litre when he was killed.
(i). When he was killed, Libya had no external debts and its reserves stood at $150 billions- now frozen globally.
(j). If a Libyan was unable to get employment after graduation the state would pay the average salary of the profession as if he or she is employed until employment is found.
(k). A portion of Libyan oil sale was, credited directly to the bank accounts of all Libyans citizens.
(l). A mother who gives birth to child received US $5.000.
(M). 40 loaves of bread cost US $0.15 during his tenure.
(n). 25% of Libyans now has a university degree.
(o). Gaddafi carried out the world’s largest irrigation project, known as the great Man-made river project, to make water readily available throughout the desert country.
AU Bathong!!! Who has ever done these to his people? Who will not want to live under such a system? Libyans will never know peace because of the Americans and the French. The welfarist state is no longer affordable.
May the spirit of the great leader rest in peace until the imperialist dogs meet him in the world yonder.
