Local gospel singer Naomi Tese intends to release a new single titled Lorato la gagwe this weekend.
Tese who has been in the music industry since 2003 said she was inspired by the word of God which says a person must go into the world and preach the gospel to every creature.
She stated that her journey began with an afro pop group called Marabi which disbanded in 2018.
“My journey in the music industry started in 2003 with a group called Marabi and we released our first album titled Marabi and then in 2010 we released another album titled Back to the Roots which was an afro jazz album. I decided to go solo in 2018 and I released a gospel album titled hallelujah, then I had my new single now in 2021,” said Tese.
Tese stated that she has 7 songs under her name, adding that the upcoming single will be uploaded on youtube and facebook.
“The song was recorded at Comas music studio by a producer called Colleen Mashumba in Gaborone. I have come a long way in the music industry, around 2014-2015 I had the privilege of being one of the backing vocalists for Socca Moruakgomo and I would confidently say that is where I found myself,” added Tese.
She also said she is expecting a positive response to the song, adding that her first album received good reception.
“I believe it will only take my marketing and taking it out there into the world and making people understand my gospel jazz,” said Tese.
She further said she will soon be dropping copies of the new song to local radio stations.
Tese also said she continues to derive inspiration from a series of singers, citing one Malawian gospel jazz singer Apostle Jimmy Kapinda.
