A meeting of top government officials, among them permanent secretaries and a minister, will convene to assess an audio tape in which the Deputy Director in the Office of the President, Mogomotsi Kaboeamodimo, is alleged to have okayed intimate relations in the workplace, the Presidency has revealed.
The Minister of Presidential Affairs and Public Administration, Mokgweetsi Masisi, revealed this week that his office was concerned about reports in the private media attributed to the newly promoted deputy Permanent Secretary.
“We are sensitive and responsive to anything that might put our reputation in bad light,” he said.
Masisi said that his office and the other officials were not investigating Kaboeamodimo, adding that the whole thing is just an inquiry to establish what really transpired at the Mass Media Complex.
“We are just going to find out what really happened,” said Masisi.
However, there are reports that there are two audio tapes, comprising of an edited and unedited versions of Kaboeamodimo’s address of government journalists.
He is reported to have said that colleagues can get romantically involved as long as it does not affect their perfomance on the job.
Because of her alleged association with Kaboeamodiomo, Kgosi has been accused of being a de-facto director and is also accused of being responsible for the transfers and several redeployments at the Department of Broadcasting Services.
Last year, close to sixteen employees at the Department of Broadcasting launched a complaint against their boss, Kaboeamodimo alleging, among others, malpractice, nepotism and verbal abuse as well as intimidation and use of transfers as punishment.
Ever since this complaint all has not been well at the Mass media complex.
