P86 000 Up For Grabs at SpinCity Tornado Cup

SpinCity Palace in Fairgrounds will be the venue for this year’s biggest SpinCity Spinning event as they host the inaugural Tornado Cup with P86 000 up for grabs. The competition will take place on the 10th of November and has been broken up into various categories for the prize money, including best stunt amongst other categories, with the highest prize money amounting to P20 000.

The tournament is unique as it will give unknown spinning drivers a chance to showcase their talent and a chance to win various cash prizes.

SpinCity Motorsport Directors, Duke Molebatsi and Joe Khengere, were buzzing with excitement as they could not wait to bring yet another spinning event to Botswana. Khengere highlighted the fact that they intend to cater for the appetite for spinning fans not just nationwide but internationally as well so Mantshwabisi Fan Club decided to leave the door open for anyone who believes they are capable of entertaining and impressing the crowd, thus giving them a chance to walk away with the prize money.

The tournament comes courtesy of a partnership with energy drink brand, Effect, who are no strangers to sponsoring SpinCity events as they sponsored the Hurricane event at Fairgrounds earlier in the year. According to Molebatsi the partnership is beneficial to both parties.

“Motorsport is an adrenaline game and it needs an adrenaline drink,” Molebatsi points out.
He emphasised the supportive role played by Effect by also pointing to their commitment to the drivers.

“Even when our racers go elsewhere, they give them energy drinks and with this event they wanted to start this new partnership with a bang,” he added.

The Tornado Cup organisers have promised audiences non-stop entertainment. The Spinning Palace boosts more spinning space than other locations and more parking space and, with other sponsors still to be announced, the Tornado Cup is sure to leave more heads spinning this November.
