Posh begins talent search in Botswana

Event management company Posh will be heading one of the most exciting competitions in Botswana and has started its talent search at University of Botswana (UB).

The competition, titled The Ring, will look to bring something new and exciting, which other shows have have failed to do.

Every month, the competition will be hosting an emcee battle and hip hop dance battles along with a showcasing of models at the Game City terrace and will eventually crown the champion of each of the categories.

The champions of each category of the ring will receive a P10 000 prize.

The event management company will also have a tour bus designed specifically for them in order to help them during their touring and promotions.

The competition, which was supposed to have started this month, was delayed due to sponsors showing a keen interest in the idea.

The response from UB students was promising as a number of models signed up. Though the emcee list was short, this didn’t seem to deter the marketing manager, Tebogo Mokoto.

“We are happy with the response; models have been signing up but emcees are coming,” he said.

The Ring officially began their promotion at University of Botswana and will be heading to Riverwalk and Limkokwing, amongst other places, during their promotion tour.

The founder of Posh, Pome Poomore, said the competition will get under way on the 29th of October and will not exclude prominent artists but he hopes to get household names, such as Scar, to be judges during the completion.

In the mean time, there were still in talks with the likes of Yarona FM and Botswana Television as possible partners or sponsors.

Having seen the success of the recent Hub Music series it seems organization and company seem to be realizing that there is a need to showcase talent in Botswana.
Whether you dance or rap The Ring might just be your shot to fame
