A relentless power crisis in Botswana is driving small business owners to desperate measures, with many forced to temporarily shutter their doors. The country’s escalating energy woes—fueled by internal generation breakdowns, soaring electricity prices, and financial turmoil at the Botswana Power Corporation (BPC)—have triggered widespread load shedding that began on March 22, 2025.
