Saleshando, Dow fight BERA over petroleum importation regulations

Member of Parliament Dumelang Saleshando and Dow & Associates trading as DA Petroleum, have issued a statutory notice to challenge the Botswana Energy Regulatory Authority (BERA) regulations on petroleum importation. The duo argue that the new regulations not only contravene the BERA Act but also stifle the growth of citizen-owned companies. The statutory notice follows a major shift in the local fuel import landscape, following the awarding of a substantive fuel import license to the state-owned Botswana Oil Limited (BOL), which now controls 90% of the country’s fuel imports.
