Salty Sescenti launches tantalizing products

Local company, Sescenti Products, held a virtual launch of their product this week as the call to support local companies continues to grow.

The products (that include fine salt, coarse salt, and black pepper) are packaged by Norkridge T/A Sescenti, a manufacturing organization located in Mogoditshane. The iodated salt is sourced from Sowa Town in Botswana ready for consumption and transported by truck to Gaborone for packaging and distribution.

Using a specialized semi-automatic packaging machine by an extremely committed team, the product lines are inclusive of well packaged and labelled 1kg, 280G and 500g options. The company positions itself as a premium but affordable manufacturer with the intention of serving a broader market.

The company has a high potential for profitability and highly driven directors. It is a youth owned company, ran by two young ladies both under the age of 30, Tafuma Mmolawa and Tlotlo Mooketsi.

“We had a launch this week where stringent processes and health measures were put in place in line with COVID-19 protocols. Guest Speakers at the launch were former minister of Investment, Trade and Industry Hon. Bogolo Kenewendo, Assistant Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry, Hon. Molebatsi Molebatsi, PST Sales & Distributions, Regional Sales Manager, Thamie Mlilo and Sefalana Holdings, Foods Buyer Manager, Ogona Sejoe.”

Norkridge Holdings Pty Ltd say they pride themselves in employing youth citizens. “We currently have 4 fulltime and 3 part time warehouse workers with the warehouse supervisor also overlooking the administrative function. We plan to provide administrative and leadership training to our Warehouse Supervisor to better his skills.” The company says they have been extremely fortunate to have Bakisani Khazi as a highly committed supervisor and leader to the warehouse workers. “Our Accounts Officer has since left Norkridge Holdings and in the interim Tafuma Mmolawa (Company Shareholder and Director), Company Secretary and Warehouse Supervisor ensure to keep a clearly articulated daily record of financial transactions.”

The company supplies households, retailers, wholesalers, restaurants, filling station quick-shops, tuck shops, and distributors. “Sescenti aims to be a leader in the industry. The Directors are committed to empowering youth in Botswana through job creation, and through partnering with other local businesses to empower the national economy.”
