Batswana will finally get to enjoy the luxury of using Samsung Built for Africa (BFA) products. The latest development follows the opening of a new Brand Store, the second one in the country.
The new store, which is located at the Airport Junction Mall, was officially opened to the public this past Thursday. As with the first brand store that was opened at the Game City Mall, the new brand store will be expected to continue delivering to Batswana BFA products line range.
Under the BFA products, the electronics company re-engineers its range of products to suit the African terrain and the African consumer. Speaking at the official opening of the store, Samsung Electronics Botswana Country Manager, Mokgethi Magapa said Samsung Electronics prides itself in delivering consumer friendly products.
According to Magapa, in developing the BFA range of products, Samsung Electronics had taken into consideration the African terrain as well as the unreliability and sometimes even the unavailability of electricity in the country.
He alluded that due to the unreliable electricity that is punctuated by power cuts in Africa, Samsung Electronics has built brands with inbuilt power surge breakers to ensure they do not get burnt during power cuts. Some of the products include dura cool refrigerators which have the capacity to keep below zero cold for hours when the electricity is not available as well as the solar powered note books which can be used where there is no electricity.
The Samsung Country Manager said the electronics company is keen on delivering consumer-centric solutions, not only in terms of the remarkable and relevant products, but also in respect of ensuring they are conveniently accessible to all our customers in Botswana.
”Experiential product displays are key to ensuring that consumers understand our products and can make informed purchase decisions and our new store offers just this ÔÇô the opportunity to engage directly with our full range of products from mobile phones to washing machines.”
He said as such, more shops will be opened in the near future to ensure that the products are accessible to Batswana. The next Samsung Brand Shop, which will focus on mobile phones and Information Technology products is expected to be opened at the Rail Park Mall very soon.
Earlier when officially opening the store, Barclays Bank Acting Chief Executive Officer, Aupa Monyatsi, said the opening of the Brand Shop will help make life easier for Batswana. The Barclays Bank CEO said in this era where Information Technology is the way to access a lot of services, availability of related products, such as the one provided by Samsung will make it easier for locals to access services. The local Samsung Brand Stores are undertaken in partnership with Digital Experience Airport Junction (Pty) Ltd.
